Goliathus regius is one of the largest species of goliath beetle. Goliath beetles are named after the biblical giant “Goliath” because of their huge size, which also makes this species popular among beetle breeders. Like many other insects, goliath beetles spend most of their life as a larva (grub) underground and spend their time as adults attempting to mate. Watch me pin a goliath beetle here:
A G. regius specimen in a wooden frame. The scientific and common names are printed on acid free card and the frame is sealed with silicone to keep the specimens safe from hungry museum beetles and other such pests.
